| It is not absolutely necessary to use a 4WD to visit the country. The ring road around the country is mostly paved (some patches in the East are still gravel), and brings you to quite a few interesting things to see. But, to really feel Iceland, and the get to see the wow-things, a 4WD is necessary. |
